NRPP Mitigation Installer Exam

NRPP Radon Mitigation Installer Exam Requirements, Fees and Registration

The NRPP now offers two new certifications: the Radon Measurement Field Technician (RMFT) and Radon Mitigation Installer (RMI). Please note that you must be able to meet the oversight requirements listed below in order to obtain the Measurement Field Technician or Mitigation Installer certification.
** These new exams and certifications are not currently recognized by licensing states. Please contact your state radon program for more information.

Radon Mitigation Installer (RMI)
The NRPP Radon Mitigation Installer (RMI) certification is designed for staff members who install soil depressurization systems in residences and implement measures to protect themselves, co-workers, and occupants from hazards related to the mitigation process. A Certified RMI must work under the general supervision and Quality Management Plan of a Certified Radon Mitigation Specialist within the same company. You can find more information about prerequisites for this certification here: types of certification. We also recommend reviewing our candidate handbook for more information.

For all licensed states, please check with your state’s radon program to determine their exam and licensing requirements.

IMPORTANT EXAM NOTICE

All NRPP exams are proctored remotely online through a live proctoring platform called Examity. Exam candidates will present their Government-issued photo ID, answer a security question and complete a biometric keystroke match. The Proctor will explain exam rules and instruct test-takers to perform a 360-degree room scan to confirm the workspace is free of any unauthorized materials. Exam sessions are recorded from start to finish and any suspicious behavior will be flagged. Once completed, the exam recording is audited for quality control before releasing the audio, video, and analytics to the NRPP for recordkeeping. Once audited, test-takers will receive their exam results via email within 48-72 business hours. You may purchase exam study guides here: Student Study Guides. If you need to retake an exam or schedule an additional exam, you will need to return to this website to purchase another exam prior to scheduling with Examity. If you would like to request special exam accommodations due to a disability, please fill out and submit our special accommodations form here: special accommodations form.
